Directory and Map

What is the Directory?

The Directory lets you search for and discover other members of the Berklee community by name, skills, location, campus, degree program, graduation year, industry, etc.

What is the Map?

The Map visualizes where Berklee alumni are located around the world, so you can find community near you.

How does Map work?

Your location may come from information you entered on your Berklee Connect profile or from institutional records Berklee has on file. You can update your location at any time from Edit Profile. We generalize location data to your city's center. Users can zoom in only as far as a city-level view. We group people into clusters for privacy, and each cluster needs at least 5 people before it appears. Your profile appears on the Map by default, but you can opt-out from Settings.

Who can see my profile in the Directory and Map?

The same privacy settings that control your visibility in the Directory also controls your visibility on the Map. Your profile is visible to other verified Berklee Connect users by default, but not to the general public. If you're not visible in Directory search, you won't appear on the Map either.

How can I change my visibility on the Directory and Map?

To change your visibility, click Account in the top-right corner of the navigation bar, then Settings. From there, choose whether you appear in the Directory and Map. Important: Opting out of the Directory and Map also automatically opts you out of Soundboard because Soundboard matches questions to alumni based on profile information displayed in the Directory. If you want to participate in Soundboard, you'll need to keep your profile visible in the Directory and Map.

Are there groups or communities I can join?

At this time, Berklee Connect does not support virtual communities. To join relevant Berklee alumni groups on social media, head here [LINK to [https://college.berklee.edu/alumni/connecting-alumni](https://college.berklee.edu/alumni/connecting-alumni)].
